The Swami Keshavanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan (SKIT) in Rajasthan has become the first autonomous engineering college in the state in affiliation with the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU). This recognition has been given for 10 years which will last from 2024-25 session to 2033-34 session. The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomy to SKIT on April 24 which was officially approved by RTU on May 2. During the period of autonomy, the institute will design its own syllabus for the courses offered.Presently there is a demand for industry ready student market, now the industry is reluctant to spend on training, said RTU vice-chancellor professor SK Singh while addressing the press conference organized to commemorate SKIT’s achievement. VC Singh said that due to the college's good grades, NBA accreditation, being ranked first in RTU QIV for seven consecutive years, as well as being equipped with all the facilities required for engineering including big infrastructure, the college has received approval from UGC and RTU for the recognition.
