The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has assumed control of the investigation into a suspected paper leak of the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses) exam in Bihar. The probe was transferred from the Bihar Economic Offences Unit (EOU) to the CBI, highlighting the severity of the alleged misconduct. During their investigation, the CBI team visited the EOU office in Patna and gathered significant evidence, including a partially burnt question paper recovered from a residence in Patna, mobile phones belonging to suspects, laptops, post-dated cheques, and reference question papers from the National Testing Agency (NTA). The EOU had previously arrested a total of 18 individuals in connection with the case. Among those arrested is Sikandar Yadavendu, identified as a prime suspect. He is a junior engineer with alleged involvement in criminal activities and a history of incarceration. Allegations of disproportionate assets have also surfaced against some public servants implicated in the case, including Yadavendu.
