LG Brigadier BD Mishra attended the ULLAS Mela under the Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram in Ladakh, celebrating the region's 97% literacy rate, achieved through the ULLAS - Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram scheme. This milestone signifies Ladakh's status as a fully "functionally literate" administrative unit. At the event in Leh, Mishra highlighted the administration's commitment to Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN). He encouraged students to create jobs, not just seek them, praising NEP 2020 for fostering progress. Sanjay Kumar of the Ministry of Education lauded Ladakh's achievement and reaffirmed support for educational enhancement. The ULLAS scheme, aligned with NEP 2020, aims to empower adults and has benefited over 77 lakh individuals nationwide through its comprehensive literacy and education initiatives.
