The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has scheduled the NEET-PG 2024 exam for August 11, after its postponement from June 22 due to alleged irregularities, including leaked papers in the NEET-UG exam. The exam will be conducted in two shifts. The eligibility cut-off remains August 15, 2024, for admission to postgraduate medical programs in government and private colleges. NBE President Dr. Abhijat Seth assured the exam's integrity, citing the board's rigorous standard operating procedures over seven years without a paper leak. The announcement follows discussions by Union Home Ministry officials on exam security measures, including stricter paper preparation protocols. NEET-PG evaluates MBBS graduates for postgraduate medical courses nationwide. Controversies surrounding the NEET-UG exam prompted protests and legal challenges, with concerns over the cancellation and alleged irregularities affecting top rankings, eventually revised from 67 to 61 top scorers.
