The Bombay High Court has allowed a 19-year-old boy, who missed his Class 12th improvement exam due to depression and Internet Gaming Disorder, to reappear. The boy, previously an above-average student, saw his performance drop significantly in March 2023 due to his condition, managing only 316 out of 600 marks. Treated for depression from July to December 2023, he missed the July re-examination. Considering his medical reports and in the interest of justice, the court permitted him to sit for the improvement exam starting on July 16, 2024, he applied and paid the necessary late fees.
