Due to heavy rainfall in Maharashtra, the University of Mumbai has postponed the Centre for Distance and Online Education exams scheduled for July 8 to July 13, from 11 am to 2 pm. The decision comes amidst severe weather conditions affecting Mumbai and surrounding areas, prompting school closures by the Brihan mumbai Municipal Corporation and a holiday declaration by Maharashtra's School Education Minister for Sindhudurg-Ratnagiri district. Mumbai saw intense rainfall, with over 300 mm recorded in six hours, leading to disruptions in train services by Central Railways. Similarly, Goa's Chief Minister ordered the closure of all schools from pre-primary to Class 12 due to a red alert, with efforts underway to rescue stranded individuals amidst the inclement weather.
