The registration period for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 is currently open and will continue until September 23, 2024. Aspiring candidates interested in pursuing an MBA at some of the premier institutions in India can complete their registration through the official CAT website. This year, the exam will be administered by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and is scheduled to take place on November 24, 2024, across 170 cities nationwide. Admit cards are expected to be released on November 5.

CAT scores are used for admission to various MBA programs across the country. Approximately 21 IIMs and over 1,000 other MBA institutions consider CAT scores for their admissions process. Exam Pattern and Structure

The CAT 2024 exam will consist of three main sections:

  • 1. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

The question paper will include both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions. The total score for the exam is 198 marks.

Application Fee

For this year's CAT, the application fee has been revised. The fee for general category candidates is now Rs 2,500, up from Rs 2,400 in previous years. Reserved category candidates will need to pay Rs 1,250, an increase from Rs 1,200.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CAT 2024, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • 1. Bachelor’s Degree:Candidates should have at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA in their undergraduate degree. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the minimum required marks are 45%.
  • 2. Final Year Students: Candidates who are in their final year of undergraduate study or those who have completed their degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
