The closing ceremony of the CBSE Cluster XV Football Tournament (Under-17 Boys) and the opening ceremony of the (Under-19) Football Tournament were held, marking a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship. The closing ceremony for the Under-17 Boys’ tournament was a grand affair, with Mr. Veerendra Verma, Bureau Head of Nav Bharat Times (Gurgaon and Faridabad), serving as the Chief Guest. Alongside him was Mr. Keshav Dutt, CBSE Observer and an educator from The Shri Ram School, Gurugram. Both dignitaries expressed their admiration for the young athletes, highlighting their enthusiasm and dedication to the game.
During the event, the Chief Guest, Mr. Verma, applauded the winning teams and presented them with medals. He encouraged all participants, winners and runners-up alike, to continue playing football with the same passion and discipline, reminding them of the importance of hard work and perseverance in sports. Mr. Verma also emphasized the significance of fair play and sportsmanship, noting how essential these values are, both on and off the field.
“Winning is important, but what matters more is how you play the game, with fairness, respect, and the right spirit,” he said. His words resonated with the young players, as they cheered for their teams and celebrated the conclusion of the tournament.
Following the closing ceremony, the school moved forward with the much-anticipated opening of the Under-19 Football Tournament. The vibrant opening ceremony was a testament to KIIT’s thriving sports culture, as students geared up for another round of exhilarating matches.
