Manipal International School organized a virtual field trip for students to explore nature on 4th and 5th October in their age appropriate batches. The virtual tour of the beautiful JB Kaval Tree Park, Yelahanka was conducted by enthusiastic wildlife conservationist and National Geographic Certified educator Mr. Jai Sharma.
The Principal of Manipal International School, Dr. Ritu Chauhan said that the purpose of this trip were manifold: to understand the variety and beauty of nature; learn about biodiversity and our coexistence in nature, the food chain, and most importantly to emphasize a sense of community and a feeling of responsibility towards the preservation of the ecosystem that sustains us.
“Our students explored the butterfly garden with the sight of beautiful butterflies and through the dense forest. They were explained through videos about the symbiotic relationship between the trees, insects & birds and us, and the role that the earthworm plays!” she said.
The session ended with a question and answer session. The students asked several questions to the expert.
