ISRO invites applications for two-month offline course on Remote Sensing and Image Analysis – Education News
ISRO has invited applications for a two-month offline course called Remote Sensing and Image Analysis. The program is conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. Only 20 participants will be allowed for the course and lodging and boarding facilities will be provided for all course participants at IIRS in its hostels on a single or double occupancy basis at nominal charges.
Participants of the course will be equipped with a good working knowledge of the theory and practice of tools and technologies. While students can apply for the course, preference will be given to candidates nominated by the government organisations followed by other working professionals for the ISRO course.
The course aims at supporting capacity-building activities in the country so that the benefits of space technology reach society at large. The course is created to train and enhance the capacity of working professionals, researchers and students in the field of remote sensing.
It enhances the skills of the participants in the utilisation of space technology and geospatial sciences into application domains through the following topics:
- Basics of remote sensing and photogrammetry
- Digital image analysis
- Thematic lectures and project work
