CISCE sets February 28 as deadline for ISC & ICSE practical & project work scores – Education News
The CISCE on Wednesday extended the last date for submitting marks of practical and project work of ISC (Class XII) and ICSE (Class X) students to the council to February 28 in view of the difficulties faced by the institutions in conducting the tests due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the country. Schools were earlier asked to submit the marks by January 31.
“Considering the present outbreak of the Virus and the difficulties expressed by the Heads of Schools, the CISCE has decided to extend the last date for submission of the pending ISC Practical Examination Marks/ Project Work Marks/SUPW Grades. The last date for submission of the these on the CAREER portal now is February 28, 2022, instead of January 31, 2022,” the circular issued to heads of all schools by Gerry Arathoon, CISCE chief executive and secretary, read.
Schools had resumed offline classes for grades X to XII but several states have again announced the closure of schools, colleges and universities due to the spike in Covid 19, Omicron cases. As a result, the schools were forced to return to online classes for Classes X to XII and they are finding it difficult to conduct the practical examination, heads of several schools said. At many schools, the practical examinations are pending in all the subjects.
The ICSE and ISC Semester 1 theory exams ended on December 16 and 20 respectively. Most schools had to shut down for the winter vacation after the completion of the semester 1 exams. They were to reopen from the first or second week of January. Many schools had expected that they would conduct the tests after the vacation and would be able to submit the marks within the January 31 deadline given by the CISCE.
