Rama Devi Women’s University to start MBA & Philosophy courses- Education News

The Rama Devi Women’s University will start offering a Master of Business Administration (MBA) course from this year, as well as a Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy from the coming academic year 2022-23.

Aparajita Chowdhury, vice-chancellor of the university, said the state government has already given its nod for starting the professional course MBA in the university. “Our institution is already running an undergraduate (UG) programme in Philosophy. But from this year, a PG course will be started,” she added.

Sasmita Mohanty, PG Council chairperson of the university, said the MBA course will be run by a separate department. It will have seven faculty members for the sanctioned 48 intake capacity. Initially, a teacher from the commerce department will be the coordinator of the new department. There was a plan to open an MBA department two years ago, but it got delayed because of the pandemic. Teachers will soon join the department before students take admission. Philosophy department has three faculty members. “As they are running a UG programme in philosophy, they can manage the PG course well,” she added. The girl students, who wish to take admission in the MBA or MA in Philosophy course, need to appear for the common PG entrance test (CPET) and obtain a good rank.
