Punjab CM says no additional work to be given to teachers, teaching to be the sole focus- Education News
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Tuesday that no additional work will be assigned to school and college teachers and that they will focus solely on teaching work.
He further promised that their pending issues would soon be resolved to their satisfaction. He went on to ‘guarantee’ that for Punjab University to acquire its pristine glory as a seat of higher education in northern India, it would be freed from its severe debt. Reiterating his government’s commitment to ensuring that no student is denied higher education due to lack of funds, he said that providing students with a quality education was the top priority of the AAP government.
Some teachers in Punjab had resorted to climbing atop water tanks during protests for their various demands, which also included the regularization of jobs. Further, he assured teachers that their outstanding issues would be resolved to their satisfaction soon and no one would be compelled to protest against the government.
