“There cannot be a more sacred mission than educating a child”, says Yogi Adityanath- Education News
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the School Chalo Abhiyan after a gap of two years on Monday, owing to the Covid pandemic.
The campaign, kicked off from Shravasti district, the one with the lowest literacy rate, is aimed at ensuring cent percent enrolment in primary and upper primary schools. Seeking support of legislators, panchayat and municipal representatives, and intellectuals, the CM urged them to adopt a school each and ensure facilities like well-equipped libraries, smart classes, safe drinking water, toilets and others that are key indicators of Operation Kayakalp.
“Since the launch of Operation Kayakalp in 2017, 1.3 lakh primary schools have undergone a facelift. Most schools are now equipped with clean drinking water, furniture, toilets, and smart classes. In addition, the quality of mid-day meals has improved. Now, I want you to adopt the remaining schools for their modernization,” he said, adding that “There cannot be a more sacred mission than educating a child and with Navaratra under way, there can’t be a more auspicious occasion to join this mission. Education alone can give right direction to the society and lay the foundation of a developed and empowered country.”
Stressing that no child should remain out-of-school, Yogi said, “It’s both our moral duty and social responsibility to bring each child to school, including children of migrant workers.”
