Gujarati medium schools to teach English in Classes 1 to 3: Gujarat govt- Education News

The Gujarat government has taken an important decision to help students improve their hold on English. State Education Minister Jitu Vaghani has taken a decision to make English subject compulsory in Gujarati medium school from Classes 1 to 3, starting this academic year.

In Classes 1 and 2, children will be taught verbally and through pictures. Class 3 students will be taught only from textbooks.

The Gujarat government has also decided to train the teachers who would be teaching children English.

Eng is presently taught in Gujarat government schools from Class 5.

But because Eng language skills have become so important, the state government has decided to start teaching children Eng from a younger age.
