Karnataka CM calls for engineering students to emerge as pioneers in using new R&D policy- Education News

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai urged students and teachers at a government engineering college to be the first to use the new Research and Development (R&D) policy.

After inaugurating the restored buildings and laying the foundation stone for the new Mechanical Engineering block, the CM addressed the students and teachers of University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE).

The Chief Minister was speaking after the 102nd birth anniversary of renowned academician and Padmabhushan awardee Dr H Narasimhaiah was commemorated at the National College with the opening of a Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab and the release of Dr H Narasimhaiah’s autobiography ‘Path of Struggle’ (translated English edition).

The CM said that the state government was upgrading seven government engineering colleges to IIT standards to show the country that this state contributes the most skilled youth to the nation.

He also said that Karnataka was proud to be the home for the largest number of startups and unicorns.

The CM lauded UVCE for playing a major role in the state in its 105-year-old legacy.

He encouraged students to soar like a swan, goddess Saraswati’s chariot and said that they were “Karnataka’s and the country’s future” who should become achievers.
