NIOS to start special programme for Agniveers to obtain Class 12 certificate- Education News
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is instituting a special programme in consultation with the Defence Authorities to enable Agniveers who have passed Class 10, to further their education and obtain a Class 12 pass certificate by developing customized courses that are relevant to their area of service, according to Ministry of Education (MoE) officials.
The Government of India on June 14, 2022, approved a recruitment scheme, Agnipath, for Indian youth to serve in the armed forces. The youths selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. These candidates can stay with the armed forces for a period of four years.
