Govt teachers in Bihar to be recruited through CTET, not STET- Education News

In a major decision by the Bihar government, it has decided that candidates aspiring to become a government school teacher in the state will not need to give a separate teacher recruitment test i.e. STET (State Teacher’s Eligibility Test), and instead be recruited though CTET (Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test) itself.

This would come as a big relief to teaching aspirants as now they would only need to clear CTET to be automatically eligible for a teaching post in Bihar government schools.

They will not need to appear for both CTET and STET anymore.

According to media reports, the Bihar government has given information about this decision to the Bihar School Examination Committee i.e. Bihar Board, which organises the teacher recruitment examination in the state.

The Bihar School Examination Committee will soon give this information to the Patna High Court as well.

The letter issued by Ravi Prakash, Director, Directorate of Primary Education, Government of Bihar, said.
