Internet services disconnected in 27 Assam districts during govt job exam- Education News
For the second time this month, internet services were discontinued for over four hours on Sunday in 27 districts of Assam in an attempt to prevent potential fraud during a written test for positions in several state government offices.
The Gauhati High Court declined to postpone the order following a writ suit against it. Therefore, the authorities made the decision to move forward with their intention to block internet access during exam hours. An official indicated that all 27 of the districts where the exams were held have enacted prohibitory orders under Section 144.
More than 14 lakh people are expected to show up for the recruitment test over the course of three days in order to fill close to 30,000 Grade III and IV positions across various government agencies. The Grade-III tests were administered on Sunday, while the Grade-IV tests were administered in two shifts on August 21. On September 11, tests will be conducted for additional positions below Grade III. The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) is in charge of all the examinations.
