PwC collaborates with Coursera to address skill gap in taxation space- Education News
PwC and platform Coursera have collaborated with the aim to address India’s current and future skill gap in the taxation space.
The professional services firm has partnered with the online learning platform to build two entry-level professional certificates – GST Tax Executive and Direct Tax Executive, which are aimed at achieving skilling at scale and creating greater employment opportunities.
The entry-level professional certificates will take about 24 weeks to complete enabling learners to learn while pursuing other education or work opportunities simultaneously. Through projects and instruction, the certificates will provide learners with a foundational understanding of the GST and direct tax practices, equipping them with the knowledge required for a beginner role in the field. Learners will be able to apply this knowledge either in their own practice, in accounting/tax roles in the industry or even in consulting organisations.
The courses will be launched in September 2022 and early2023 and will include a mix of theory, concepts and practical knowledge including regular compliances. PwC is also working with Coursera to establish a ‘Tax Academy’, a knowledge hub that will equip India’s taxation professionals with the most updated accounting and taxation curriculum, thereby creating a larger pool of skilled and certified professionals in the country.
