Odisha Parents’ Federation holds protest at Education Minister’s residence- Education News
The Odisha Parents’ Federation on Monday held a protest at the official residence of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash by raising seven charters of demands.
They demanded that fees should be fixed according to the facilities available in schools and that each school should submit a report about the implementation of the school fees waiver due to Covid-19, the weight of school bags should be increased from 1.5 kg to 5 kg, and that all schools are required to follow NCERT books.
According to the Right to Education Act, admission should be started by reopening the portal to avail 25% free seats. Stringent action should be taken against those schools which are running without recognition, and a special audit should be done in private schools, they further demanded.
