Public can access legislative assembly library from November 1- Education News

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The extensive book collection at the library of the legislative assembly will be open to the public from November 1.

Assembly speaker A N Shamseer will launch the membership scheme for the public at R Sankaranarayanan Thampi members lounge on November 1 at 11.30 am. LSGD Minister M B Rajesh will give the first membership. The library has a collection of over 1.15 lakh books. In addition to books under the general category, it includes declarations during the reign of kings, acts, ordinances, proceedings of the councils of Travancore, Kochi and Thiru Kochi, gazettes, census reports, commission reports and reports of the various committees of the state government. The speaker will also launch the logo and website of the International book festival of Kerala Legislative assembly 2022 on the occasion. The members of the assembly, members of the library council in Thiruvananthapuram, famous literary figures in the capital, cultural activists, and research scholars of the University of Kerala will take part in the function.
