The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) was held on November 14, 2022, in 199 venues across 25 states and union territories as part of PM Narendra Modi’s aim to increase job options for India’s young under the Skill India Mission. These apprenticeship fairs are being conducted every month. To give local students the chance to build their careers through apprenticeship training, several local businesses from diverse industries were directed to participate in the mela. Participating businesses had the chance to network with possible apprentices on a single platform, make immediate hiring decisions, and offer applicants a chance to work with them.
The government aims to train 1 million youngsters annually through apprenticeship training, and PMNAM is being used as a platform to boost establishment and student engagement in order to accomplish this goal. Additionally, it informs young people about the variety of options offered by the partnering businesses.
