Seven MBBS students sit on hunger strike seeking rollback of bond policy- Education News

Seven MBBS students on Friday sat on a hunger strike outside the OPD block of Kalpana Chawla Medical College and Hospital Karnal, demanding rollback of bond policy.

They raised slogans against the state government. They threatened that their hunger strike will continue until the government fulfills their demands. They said that they have already given an ultimatum to the government, failing which they would intensify their strike.

The protesting MBBS students said that the government should give job guarantees instead of imposing the unjustified bond policy, in which a student has to pay nearly Rs 40 lakh (Rs 10 lakh per year) as a bond. “We along with our parents are distressed as on the one hand, our education is getting affected and on the other our parents are not able to pay such a huge amount as a bond,” said a protesting student.
