IIA Calicut wins best chapter award in national convention-Education News
The Best Chapter Award for the year 2022 was given to IIA Calicut as the two-day national convention of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), organised by IIA Chhattisgarh Chapter, concluded here on Saturday.
As many as 220 awards in various categories were conferred on IIA Centers and Chapters across the country. Architects from outside were of the view that Chhattisgarh is a blank canvas where there are unlimited possibilities of designing and promised a landmark design that they would give to Chhattisgarh in the coming times. IIA national president C R Raju and members launched Professor Jeet Kumar Gupta’s book Decoding Affordable Housing on the occasion.
IIA Chhattisgarh Chapter president architect Raj Kumar Prajapati honored all the committee members for making the convention a big success. Architects Gurjit Singh Matharu, Smeep Padora, Praveen Bavdekar, Prasanna More and Sarika Shetty gave presentations of their works on the first day while Abin Chaudhary gave details of the works being done by him in Kolkata on the second day. Engineer Manjunath gave a presentation on his just designed the structure of the world famous airport terminal of Bangalore, which was dedicated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Manish Gulati and Vivek Rathore also gave their presentations. Architect Saurabh Rahatgaonkar and architect Ravi Jaggi informed that about 250 eminent architects from all over the country gathered in this session.
