Haryana School Reopening News: Going by the latest update coming from Haryana, the State Government has decided to go ahead with the partial reopening of schools in the state from 21st Sept 2020. As part of preparation process for the same, the Directorate of School Education, Haryana has issued orders to District Education Officers to facilitate reopening of schools for 9th Class and above students from next week. The decision to partially reopen schools in Haryana has been taken by the state government in line with the Home Ministry’s Unlock 4.0 Guidelines which allow students to visit schools on voluntary basis for doubt solving sessions. Earlier in the month, Health ministry also issued strict guidelines and SOPs for reopening of schools nearly 6 months after they were closed in March 2020.

Teachers to Undergo COVID-19 Tests

From 21st Sept onwards, teachers and non-teaching staff of the schools have been allowed to visit the school premises with upto 50% of strength. However, during the partial reopening of schools from 21st Sept, only doubt solving sessions will be held by teachers and no regular classes will be held for students.

Moreover, teachers will also have to undergo COVID-19 tests before the partial reopening of schools. In addition to this, teachers are advised to to download the Aarogya Setu App on their mobile phones. This is, again, not mandatory and private schools may continue to remain closed, should they so desire.

Strict Implementation of COVID-19 guidelines

As per the letter written to Directorate of School Education, Haryana to the DEOs across the state, school administrators and principals have been instructed to start making the necessary arrangements for reopening of schools. This also includes making necessary preparation with regards to social distancing guidelines, crowd control and ensuring availability of personal protective equipment like masks, gloves and hand sanitizers.

Students who want to visit schools for doubt solving session will also have to adhere to guidelines put down by the health ministry. As part of this, students will have to carry a written consent from signed by their parents confirming their approval of their ward to the school. In addition to this, students will also have to undergo thermal scanning and compulsorily wear masks while they are on school premises.
