Delhi private schools issued notice, parents can buy uniforms and books from any vendor of their choice-Education News
The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi has released a notice for private schools regarding the procurement of uniforms and books.
According to the notice, parents are free to purchase books and uniforms from any vendor of their choice. However, private schools are required to provide the details of at least five vendors from whom these items can be bought. The circular from the DoE also mandates that the schools display the list of books required for each class in advance, to assist parents with their purchases. The government of Delhi has discouraged private schools from imposing the purchase of academic goods from specific vendors. Education minister Atishi has warned that action will be taken against schools that continue to do so. To ensure that these guidelines are followed, the DoE has issued new regulations and asked district deputy education officers to oversee their implementation. The schools are expected to provide the names, addresses, and phone numbers of five vendors located near the schools where the uniforms and books can be purchased. The officers are directed to submit a report on the implementation of the guidelines without fail to the private school branch of the DoE.
