Assam govt launches e-textbooks in 8 mediums, 19 languages-Education News

Assam government has launched e-textbooks from pre-primary to Class 12 on May 13, 2023, in a bid to make education accessible and readily available to students in the state.

The e-textbooks are released in 8 mediums and 19 languages, making it easier for students, teachers, and guardians to access the textbooks anytime and anywhere. Here are the key highlights of the programme. The government has made 475 titles of textbooks available in downloadable formats in the portals of SCERT, SEBA, and AHSEC. This will enable students to access their required textbooks easily from anywhere at any time. The programme was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe and Backward Classes Ranoj Pegu. The launch event was held in the presence of Debananda Hazarika and Tulsi Barthakur, Chairman and VC of ASTPPCL, along with other officials of the Department of Education.  The minister said that the e-textbooks would help students, teachers, and guardians access the textbooks anytime and anywhere. Assam operates schools in eight different mediums to accommodate the linguistic diversity of the state.
