BHU to start 12 new scholarships with alumni donation of Rs 60 lakh-Education News
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is taking a significant step towards providing greater opportunities for its students by introducing 12 new scholarships across various programmes.
This initiative has been made possible by a generous donation of Rs 60 lakh from the family of BHU alumni. The contribution was presented by Kishori Jhunjhunwala, wife of renowned industrialist DhinanathJhunjhunwala, and eminent businessman Jagdish Jhunjhunwala, under the Pratidanainitiative of the university. Vice-Chancellor Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain gratefully accepted the donation on Saturday. KishoriJhunjhunwala has generously contributed Rs50 lakh to establish ten scholarships, each valued at Rs 25,000. Among these, eight scholarships will be awarded to deserving students at Mahila Mahavidyalaya based on merit and financial need. The remaining two scholarships will be granted to students studying in the Acharya in Sanskrit VidyaDharma Vijnana Sankaya (Faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vigyan).
