Chhattisgarh: Parents don’t find online classes efficient, reveals study
RAIPUR: A study conducted by Azim Premji University in five states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, Karnataka revealed that a majority of teachers and parents said that the online mode of education is ‘inadequate and ineffective’ for children, and that most parents are eager to send their children to schools with necessary safeguards.
The key findings of the study conclude that online education is ‘ineffective’ as over 80% teachers expressed the impossibility to maintain emotional connect with students during the e-classes, and said that it becomes difficult to maintain discipline.
Over 90% teachers felt that no meaningful assessment of children’s learning was possible during online classes. 70% of the parents also rendered online classes as ineffective.
Moreover, over 60% children cannot access online classes due to non-availability or inadequate number of smartphones and difficulty in using the apps for online learning.
