Will Karnataka school exams only be held in June 2021?

With COVID-19 cases still being on the rise, there is no clarity as to when the schools and colleges will reopen. As a result, the Class 10 and PUC-2 exams in Karnataka are likely to be postponed to June and July instead of holding them in March and April. According to sources in the Education Department, the State Technical Advisory Committee has recommended the postponement of the exams.

Dr Manjunath CN, who is the director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and member of the State Technical Advisory Committee said that the committee is yet to submit the report about conducting exams to the State Primary and Secondary Education Department. Once they submit it, the department will take a call on the month to conduct exams. He also added, “I think the Education Department can also cut the summer vacation by a few days so that schools can catch up during the coming academic year.”
The timetable for the 2020-21 board exams is yet to be prepared and it will be based on the number of COVID cases at the time.
