West Bengal syllabus for class-XI reduced
Kolkata: After reducing the syllabus for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations, the West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education has decided to also trim 30%-35% syllabus for Class XI for 2021 annual exams.
“But there will be no reduction in the syllabus of subjects where the total allotted marks in the theory paper is less than or equal to 60. They are music, health and physical education, visual arts and vocational subjects,” said an HS Council official.
Every year, the council sets question papers for Class XI annual exams, while the evaluation is carried out by schools. The reduction of Class XI syllabus was welcomed by students and teachers. “But it is also important to know exam dates without which candidates are under a lot of stress. Preparations are also receiving a setback,” said a government school teacher.
