Chhattisgarh to reopen schools for classes 10 & 12 from August 2

Recording a decline in fresh Covid-19 cases, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to reopen schools for classes 10 and class 12 from August 2.

Regular classes of class 10 and 12 should be started from Monday, August 02 in all private and government schools under the school education department, said an order issued by the state government on Monday.

Besides, it has been stated in the order that regular classes for class 1 to 5 and class 8 students in all private and government schools should be commenced as per recommendation obtained from the Gram Panchayat concerned and the parent committee of the school for rural areas and of the ward councillor concerned and parent committee of school in urban areas. On receipt of their recommendation, these classes should also be started from August 2.

The order further stated that these classes should be started in those districts in which the positivity rate of corona has been less than 1 per cent for 7 days. Besides, it has been mentioned to keep the strength of class 50 per cent.
