Delhi Public School Nashik celebrated Pi Day
Every year on 22nd July, the world celebrates Pi Day to recognise the mathematical constant, Pi. It is defined as the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter and the value for Pi is 3.14 or 22/7
In the celebration students participated with great enthusiasm and excitement, availing the opportunity to show their talent.
The value of pi and its history was presented in the programme.
The students also did the experiment on Buffon’s needle experiment. It is a very old and famous random experiment. The experiment consists of dropping a needle on a hardwood floor. The main event of interest is that the needle crosses a crack between floorboards. Strangely enough, the probability of this event leads to a statistical estimate of the number π!
The story of Ramanujan was enacted by the students showing gratitude towards the work of the Great Mathematician. The students had sung the Pi song and danced.
Keeping the value of Pi, the musical sequence was played. Pi is related to Arts and Art integration fusion is presented by students.
