Suraasa announces biggest scholarship test of India for aspiring teachers
- Assured Scholarships up to 100% that can be claimed against the TET Prep Course to kickstart in mid-August
- Get TET ready with the country’s biggest online test
New Delhi: The teacher growth-focused ed-tech platform, Suraasa, has announced All India Teachers’ Scholarship Test (AITST) to support aspiring and in-service teachers in preparing for and clearing the Teacher Eligibility Tests (TETs). Under the New Education Policy 2020, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has made it compulsory for all teachers to clear TETs. Earlier, clearing TETs was a mandate only for government school teachers of Class I to Class VII. With the introduction of the scholarship test, Suraasa aims to prepare the TET aspirants and uplift the low passing percentage in the tests since their inception in 2011.
Suraasa aims to support the government in ensuring that we have skilled teachers in India who are passionate, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped with modern teaching standards.
The AITST has been designed by teacher education experts to help teachers get:
- TET ready with the country’s biggest online test
- An All India Rank without going to a test centre
- Assured Scholarships from 10% up to 100% for every teacher giving the test which they can claim against the TET Prep Course on the Suraasa platform
- A piece of INR 20 Crores worth of scholarship pool
TETs enable aspiring teachers to gain eligibility for teacher recruitment in government-aided schools such as KVS and NVS as well as in private schools. The test is held at the central level as CTET by CBSE and at the state level as State TET by respective state governments.
Mr. Rishabh Khanna, a Cognitive Scientist and Founder of Suraasa said, “With the changing time, the schools and the government have become strict with whom they allow to teach. Clearing the TETs helps a teacher to be identified as eligible and qualified in the eyes of relevant stakeholders. With the TET Prep Course, teachers will get the proper guidance to clear the exam. Suraasa has always focused on the welfare of the teachers. The scholarship test signifies another step towards making upskilling more affordable for them.”
Apart from this, the company has also announced a partial scholarship of up to INR 50,000 per learner, that will be granted to teachers who want to enrol in Suraasa’s long-term qualifications like Professional Certificate in Teaching and Learning (PgCTL) and the upcoming UK Level 5 and 7 Teaching Qualifications that help teachers in getting international teaching jobs abroad.
