Dr Chandrakanta Pathak
Principal and CEO of HVB Global Academy, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Dr Chandrakanta Pathak has been working with her team to reimagine the ethos of teaching and learning in the school so as to make education egalitarian and a means of growth and development rather than an impersonal activity with the solitary goal of scoring points.
She has won various awards such as the Women Leadership Award for Excellence in Education at the Femina – 5th World Women Leadership Congress Awards and Times Power Women 2018, in the field of Education by Times of India.
Dr Manimekalai Mohan
Dr Manimekalai Mohan, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Dr Manimekalai Mohan is a visionary and reformer who has dedicated her life to education and philanthropy. Through her work, she became a voice and pillar of support for women educators. Dr Mohan has founded six campuses in the Coimbatore district, where she is an outspoken proponent of modern education perspectives while combining Indian values.
Dr Mohan completed her Post Graduation in Psychology & Rehabilitation Science from Holy Cross College, Trichy. She later received the Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) from American West University and University of South America in 2016, and the Honorary Professor of the Academic Union, Oxford, UK, in 2019.
Ms. Alka Kapur
Ms. Alka Kapur, Principal of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Ms. Alka Kapur started her career as a Primary Teacher of English, and was promoted to the Head Teacher, and then the Principal in the year 2000. Her vision begins with a strong focus on holistic education which means overall development in academics, life skills and talents but above all, in carving a good human being. In addition to being a school Principal, Ms. Kapur also runs Nav Chetna Shiksha Kendra- a school for the weaker sections of the society. Roti Bank is another initiative taken by her to ensure that everybody gets a square meal a day. These endeavours have helped her turn the ideas of Education for All and Right to Food, into a reality. She has received a number of awards through the course of her journey, including the CBSE Teachers’ and Principals’ Award 2019-202 by Shri. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’- the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Delhi; State Teachers’ Award 2019 by Delhi Directorate of Education by the Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Mahatma Gandhi Samman Award at House of Lords, London, and the STAR 2020 Appreciation Award for spreading the spirit of positivity and hope during COVID-19 by World Book of Records, London, UK along with INDO – UK Forum.
Mr. A.R. Razi Faquih
Mr. A.R. Razi Faquih, president of Orbis Education Society, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Mr. A.R. Razi Faquih did his schooling from St. Peter’s School, Panchgani, and completed his higher studies from Burhani College, Mumbai. As a student, he used to represent his school and college at various inter-institutional tournaments. In 2009, Mr. A.R. Razi Faquih, along with his brother Mr. Haseeb Faquih, set out on a journey and established the Orbis Education Society, which runs the very prestigious Orbis Schools that are co-educational day schools of much repute, affiliated with the CBSE at Keshav Nagar and Mundhwa in Pune. These schools have excelled profusely over the years and have received numerous awards. Mr. A.R. Razi Faquih is a recipient of the prestigious Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Excellence Award.
Ms. Alpa S Kotadia
Ms. Alpa S Kotadia, Founder and Director Principal of Vapi Public School (CISCE) (International Campus) received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Ms. Alpa S Kotadia holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Zoology as well as a B.Ed degree. She has done her MA in Sociology, and has been awarded with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Education and Parenting. After completing her education, Ms. Alpa’s dream was to have a school where children will love to come every day where they will play, have fun, and learn by doing. She turned her dreams into reality by founding the Little Angels Trust and starting a pre-school in 2001. She then started Vapi Public School as a continuation of Little Angels Preschool.
Ms. Alpa has received a number of awards and certificates through the course of her journey, some of which include the Certificate for Leadership management for Heads of the Schools by CISCE (2012), the “ShikshaBharti Award “ by Indian Achievers Forum at Delhi from the hands of the IPS officer Ms. Kiran Bedi in 2013; and the Rashtriya Shikshak Samman award by Avantika group of contemporary and intellectuals from Minister Of State Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Mr. Parshottam Rupala, in 2016. Under Ms. Alpa’s leadership, VPS was accredited by NABET in the academic year 2018-19.
Dr. Deepak Madhok
Dr. Deepak Madhok, Chairman of Sunbeam Group of Educational Institutions, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
During his career spanning 11 years in the Civil Service, Dr. Deepak Madhok served as Dy. Administrator of the Municipal Corporation of Varanasi, before he was inducted into the elite Indian Administrative Service in 1982. In 1990, he quit a promising career in the IAS to help his parents realize their mission of providing high quality, English medium education to the neglected children of Uttar Pradesh. He has won various awards including the Champion of Change Award in 2018 by the Vice-president of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu.
Dr. N.K. Dutta
Dr. N.K. Dr. N.K.Dutta completed his Bachelor and Masters in History from Kirorimal College under Delhi University. Further, he did his Bachelor of Education, Master of Education and Bachelor of Law from Gauhati University. He did his Ph.D in History from Tilak Maharashtra University, Pune. Presently, he is selected to pursue the Doctorate of Education program by the Exeter University, UK.
Dr. N.K. Dutta founded the Miles Bronson Residential School in 1987 with only 17 students in a rented house. Since then, the school has grown rapidly and has established in its own premises with a permanent complex, providing all facilities for quality education. Dr. Dutta has been appointed as the convener of the Central Board of Secondary Education Inspection Committee for Affiliations of new schools. He is also appointed to represent the North Eastern Region as the Head Examiner and Subject Expert (Social Science) recently by the CBSE, New Delhi. He represents the Region as a Regional Sports Advisor to the Board.
Dr. Girish Desai

A PhD holder and a mechanical engineer by profession, Dr. Girish Desai has always had the vision to grow; and in his growth, have other students find their career path. After completing his graduation in mechanical Engineering, he worked in the industry for seven years before joining Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) in the year 2000 as a lecturer in the engineering college. He then became the Executive Director at the age of 38. In 2009, he was the Advisor to Sahajirao Patil Vikas Pratisthan (SPVP), of Engineering Institute and Polytechnic. Soon, he up scaled from teaching and in 2012, he was appointed as Executive Director of Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust. The raging fire within him enabled him to commence the ‘Master of Business Administration at PCET (2008-2009)’.
Dr. K. M. Cherian

Gifted with compassion, passion, humanitarianism and an amazing sense of dedication, Padmashree Dr. K. M. Cherian laid foundation to the Dr. K.M. Cherian’s Educational Trust in2006 . His brain child “The Study – L’école Internationale” is dedicated to mould every child into Passionate Learners, Global Citizens and Future Leaders.
Dr. K. M. Cherian has been the Honorary Surgeon to the President of India from 1990 to 1993 and has performed more than 36,000 operations. He is the driving force and the source of motivation to the students at The Study. His exemplary life and contribution in the field of science motivates the students to follow his footsteps. Under his direction the students are currently working on projects based on Biomimetics.
DR. S Ayyappan Nair
Dr S Ayyappan Nair, Academic Director of BGS Group of Institutions, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
Dr S Ayyappan Nair, the academic director of BGS Group of Institutions began his journey in the education sector as a teacher in the year 1963. He served the Indian Army for three years as a Civilian School Master, after which he joined a new central school in Malleswaram, Bangalore
as a Primary Teacher. He started to attend evening college for PUC and BA, and then joined the Regional College of Education at Mysore for B.Ed. I completed my MA from Bangalore University, and MEd from Tilak Collage of Education, Pune.
Dr S Ayyappan Nair has received many awards and recognitions through the course of his journey, including the National Award from Dr A P J Abdulkalam in 2003, NCERT award for innovation in Education, Best Principal Award by SOF New Delhi, Best Principal in integrating Technology in the classroom by Intel, Best International Principal Award 2016, and many more.
DR. R. Balaji
DR. R. Balaji, Secretary and Correspondent of SBIOA Educational trust, Chennai, received the award for Education Stalwarts at the 9th National Conference on K-12 Leadership & India School Merit awards hosted by EducationToday at the Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore on the 11th and 12th of March, 2022.
DR. R. Balaji serves as the Secretary and Correspondent of the SBOA chain of institutions which has 12 schools situated in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Ernakulam and is home to about 30,000 students and 2000 teachers in its fold. He is discharging his duties in two diverse fields with unique challenges. His sole objective is to provide service and upliftment to the people he works for.
DR. R. Balaji has been conferred the Doctoral Degree by the University of Central America for accomplishments in the public life in promoting education for establishing a just and equitable society.
Dr. Ram Mohan

Dr. Ram Mohan holds M. Sc., M. Ed., Ph. D. and D. Lit., with a gold medal in post-graduation in Mathematics. His career took off as a ground duty officer in the Indian Air Force, but it was his inclination towards education that led him to eventually join a residential school in Meerut. He has been honoured with numerous awards, the most cherished being the ‘Best House Master’ and ‘The Best Teacher’ award presented by Hon’ble Shri Lal Krishna Advaniji.
It was in the year 2009 that Dr. Ram Mohan took a leap towards the fulfillment of his dreams and laid the foundation of Suditi Educational Group, which includes four schools with the name Suditi Global Academy, at Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jaswant Nagar & Firozabad.
Dr. Savita Arora

She was conferred an honorary Doctorate by the Open International University, Colombo for her distinguished contribution to the cause of education. Dr. Sara George Muthoot has always been very daring, and has taken tough decisions alongside lending a compassionate ear to listen and heed to the needs of her children, parents and teachers. Her mission to educate and empower each child as her own is one that is priceless.
Dr. Suminder Singh

Despite the hurdles faced in his career around that time, he successfully managed to establish his own school in 2017, which is the International Delhi Public School (IDPS), Jammu. Dr. Suminder Singh worked on the school right from scratch, which included working on the infrastructure and the construction of the buildings. He looked into every single aspect of the school, and it was functional in just seven months. He is currently running his ninth school in Jammu.
Dr. Suminder Singh has been conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in the specialized area of education with all the rights and privileges appearing thereto, issued by the Commonwealth Vocational University at Makaunga, Hahake, Tongatapu, Kingdom of Tonga, in the year 2019.

Mr. Bharat Arora

Mr. Bharat Bhushan Gupta

Mr. Manjunath Srivatsa

Mr. SLN Sathappan

An inspiring leader right from his school days, Mr. SLN Sathappan is a prolific athlete with state level certifications, and has received awards for Long Jump and Triple Jump. He was the captain of the senior school hockey team, and would always actively participate in various co-curricular activities.
He established a Coffee Curing facility ‘Levista’ in Coorg in 1998, along with his brother. They then established Nalanda Gurukula International Public School & Nalanda International Independent Pre-University College where they focus on entrepreneurial empowerment of students, inspiring them to become job providers and not job seekers.
Mr. Sathyanarayanan

Mr. Sathyanarayanan completed his graduation from the Jamal Mohammed College, and then secured a job in the government sector. He progressed his way through and retired as an Associate Director. After retirement, he wanted to invest his time in something useful and contribute to the society in the best possible way.
On starting his journey as an educator, Mr. Sathyanarayanan decided that Montessori education should be affordable for kids coming from simple financial backgrounds, so as to enable them to experience the joy of learning.
Mr. Shailesh Dalmia

Mr. Shailesh Dalmia is the Hon. Secretary of the prestigious Niranjanlal Dalmia Educational Society. He is a Graduate in Commerce from H R College of Commerce and Economics and has pursued the Bachelor of Law from University of Mumbai with specialization in The Companies Act. He has been instrumental in taking the legacy of the Educational Society forward since 1997. His deep involvement, zeal and commitment to education led him to be inducted in the Board of Trustees (Governing Body) in the year 2001. His farsighted vision and leadership qualities elevated him as Hon. Secretary of the Society in Jan 2006. In the year 2014, N. L. Mr. T.V. Srinivasa Murthy completed his graduation in Geology in Tumkur, and started his career at the age of 22 with a newspaper, as a Marketing Executive, and then became a marketing manager and served 36 years in the field. He began his journey in education in the year 2007. Having developed an immense passion for this field, he wishes to dedicate the rest of his life to it. While interacting with newspaper agents as a marketing manager, Mr. T.V. Srinivasa Murthy witnessed most of them struggling to give good education to their children. He thus realizes the importance of imparting education to needy children, especially to those coming from rural areas. He thus started his school in the year 2007 in Byalakere village, North Bengaluru.
Mr. Vineeth Manjunath

After pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in the field of education from King’s College London, Mr. Vineeth Manjunath started working at Poorna Vikasa Vidyalaya, the school established by his father, as the CEO. Being a sportsman all his life, he played cricket in the UK and Australia, and has also represented the Karnataka Premier League. He currently plays in the first division league in Bangalore.

Ms. Nafeesa Ahmed stepped into the education sector in the year 2010. She completed her under graduate degree in Business Management from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, and her Bachelor’s in Education from IGNOU. She holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Bangalore University, as well as a Master’s Degree in International Management from Royal Holloway, University of London. After completing her Master’s from London in 2010, she took over as the Management Representative at Presidency School, Bangalore South, which was established by her father Dr. Nissar Ahmed, the Founder-Chairman of the group.
Ms. Nafeesa Ahmed has received a number of awards through the course of her journey, including the ‘Edupreneur of the Year’ award at the Globe Platinum Asia Pacific award ceremony for educational excellence that was held in Hong Kong, ‘India’s Young Edupreneur Award’ by Microtec in association with the MBA Journey Magazine, and ‘Future of India – Young Educational Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award 2016.

Ms. Preetha Ganesh is one the youngest Vice-Presidents in India to manage a huge conglomerate namely the Vels Group of Institutions, which comprises 36 institutions, 30000 students and 6000 staff in India, Singapore and UK. Holding this enormous responsibility at such a young age is complete testimony to her excellence, hard work and perseverance; and is what deems her a true visionary.
Ms. Preetha graduated from SSN College of Engineering as a topper, and then joined the London School of Economics to pursue her Master’s in Management. She is now the Vice President of Vels Group of Institutions and manages all the institutions under it. She strongly believes that offering education to the next generation is her responsibility. She looks forward to hunt third world countries who are deprived of education; she wants to go to places like the tribal regions of Africa and Cambodia to provide the children there with basic education.

She joined M.D. International School, Bijnor on 1st January, 2016.As an educationist, she believes in empowering the facilitators and creating lineage which would benefit the future of our country.

Dr.Peter McLaughlin is the CEO of CHIREC International School, Hyderabad. He has vast experience of over four decades in the education field in the UK, Africa, the Middle East and India in various roles, from school and university teaching to Headmaster, Principal, member and official of prestigious international educational associations, consultant, advisor and CEO. He was the Headmaster of The Doon School, Dehradun, for eight years until 2016.
Dr. McLaughlin has been a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Economic History at the London School of Economics; run IB and A Level schools in the UK and abroad; been Principal of the British International School, Cairo; and a Senior Manager and Headmaster of leading UK day and boarding private schools from the 1990s. He is a published author, with a doctoral and research specialization in military history and defence policy, and has lectured in modern European and world history, economic history and defence studies at university level.
