After witnessing a thick layer of smog in air, the Haryana government has decided to shut all the schools in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Jhajjar till November 17. This decision has been taken due to the increasing level of pollution in different areas of Haryana.

“The order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain operational till November 17,” said an official tweet.

The following activities which remain non-operational till November 17, 2021 are:

  • All government and private schools should remain closed
  • A complete ban on all types of construction and development activities
  • Government and private offices switch to work from home
  • No trash burning by municipal bodies
  • Stubble burning is prohibited.

On Saturday, the Delhi government announced the closure of schools from November 15 to November 21 to protect children from the bad impact of pollution on children.

In the official announcement, the Delhi government not only declared to shut schools but, in fact, has asked government departments to switch to 100% work from home mode and also asked the private offices to work from home as much as possible for the whole one week.

Pollution has trapped the whole National Capital and surrounding areas. This Air Quality Index (AQI) has also reached its danger mark. Areas like Gurugram AQI have reached up to 471, which worsens the air quality. On the other hand, worse pictures have been witnessed in the areas of Noida and Gurugram where AQI recorded 587 and 557 on Saturday
