Educational institutions are the source of formal education for our society; therefore, our primary responsibility is the systematic transmission of knowledge, skills and cultural values within a formally organized structure. In order to achieve this, I believe it is essential to have a teamwork approach that can generate a sense of trust and loyalty amongst the employees, which will motivate them to communicate, cooperate and be supportive of one another. It will lead to greater productivity, morale and the overall quality of the organization’s performance will be increased. I strongly believe that having a successful team can make a huge contribution to organizational productivity and effectiveness.

A good follower has the traits of loyalty, ego management, humility, work ethics, active listening and teamwork. I like to think of myself as both a good leader and follower. My approach to each situation is different, and I respond to what it needs from me. As a leader, I inspire followers to understand where they excel and where they need to build additional skills. I motivate them to be at the forefront to try new things, encourage authentic and creative ideas and motivate them become independent so that they can be the next leaders and are able to identify the quality of the followers as they inspire them.

In my role as a leader, I try to imbibe the basic qualities of being optimistic, having value ethics and integrity, acting decisively, and encouraging risk taking and innovation. I ensure to keep my vision and goals very clear and transparent to the team members; this facilitates the overall implementation and there is a remarkable output. I set the example by accomplishing the tasks and set the standard of excellence which is expected to be followed by the employees. The idea of self motivation and the ‘never give up attitude’ are the most critical factors which I essentially keep strong as they are observed and imbibed by the aspirants.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a complete reset of workforce and work itself to create a robust future and to recalibrate the business. The work from home option was immediately implemented to ensure the safety of one and all. Many new strategies were introduced into the system to ensure that the teaching-learning process remained uninterrupted and that no child would miss the experience of learning during these unfortunate times. The concept of online education for preschoolers was like a nightmare in the beginning. Considering the challenges faced by the teachers and the kids, many innovative and interactive sessions were conducted with minimal screen time for the kids. This was achieved by collaborating with many experts from relevant fields so that the best could be incorporated using their expertise. Regular workshops for the kids and the parents were conducted which kept them motivated even in the toughest of times.

As the face of our brand, I represent my entire team. We are interdependent and each of us actively contributes towards achieving the organizational goals. There is a strong sense of communication and collaboration with the entire team to enable building their skills, which also helps to identify the areas of improvement.

Since teachers hold the responsibility to motivate students in every domain through their consistent guidance as they play a major role in shaping the future of students, even they needs to be motivated as it stimulates the energies, concentration, and performance and maintains a positive approach towards their goals.

Every member of the team as per their roles has some or the other aspect to draw inspiration, from their leaders. My focus on developing others and a maintaining a very accessible approach has made it possible to inspire each and every team member. As an effective leader, my contribution has been to make more leaders under my guidance which was quite remarkable.

Setting realistic goals which are specific, measurable and achievable has helped to increase the efficiency and productivity of the staff members, along with inculcating the quality of persistence and dedication and working on individual setbacks to improve their skills. Helping them to face hardships without surrendering has helped to enhance their strengths. I believe that every individual has the qualities of a leader; it just needs to be nurtured. I would strongly recommend everyone to identify their strengths and focus on them completely, so as to achieve the best.
