Delhi DoE’s order to reduce financial burden of parents of private school students- Education News
In a bid to provide relief to parents grappling with buying books and uniforms for their children from a specific shop suggested by the private school, the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has instructed schools to stop the practice of forcing the parents immediately.
Although many private school are yet to receive an official circular on this order, the parents are hopeful, to have some relief in the post-Covid world where the financial burden is at its peak.
A DoE official has that the order is out in public, however, the communication and legal formalities are still under discussion. The official said “The government is drafting chapter-wise summaries and soon the private unaided schools in Delhi/NCR will receive the official circular for the current academic year. This will regulate and control the sale inside the school. Streamlining the order in terms of its execution is time-consuming administrative work. As the 2022-23 academic session has started in state schools, the execution of this rule will take some time. We want to fix gaps and help the parents.”
By making it compulsory for all schools to provide a list of names, addresses and contact details of at least five shops associated with the school, DoE Delhi plans to create a competitive market.
