‘Vision@2047’ | MCD’s roadmap to boost primary education with tech and infra upgrade-Education News

With a ‘vision document’ emphasising the development of sports facilities, safety and hygiene in schools, and teaching pupils about gender equality, the MCD has created a path to improve the quality of primary education in Delhi.

According to officials, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will concentrate on a number of projects under ‘Vision@2047’ to strengthen its mechanism for providing primary education in a system that emphasises results.

“Marching forward with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a developed nation by 2047 under the ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav’ and to improve the quality of primary edu in Delhi, the edu department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has prepared a roadmap — ‘Vision@2047’,” the MCD said in a statement.According to the civic organisation, all of its schools are implementing the National Education Policy 2020 in this approach.

According to the MCD, it has plans to encourage the use of mother language as the medium of instruction at the primary level and to permit early gender mixing among pupils.”Under the ‘Vision@2047’, the MCD would focus on educating students about gender equality at the early childhood stage. With this objective, the MCD is planning to transform its double-shift schools into a single-shift schools, so as to allow the mingling of boys and girls from an early age, which is mandatory for inculcating the necessary values like respecting the opposite gender,” the statement said.
