Education minister Bains reviews summer camps in Mohali schools-Education News
In a surprise check of ongoing summer camps, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bainsvisited Government Smart Primary School and Government Smart Middle School at Phase 2.
The minister reviewed the summer camps and expressed satisfaction over the activities being learned by the students. Interacting with students of various classes, he discussed activity-based learning and the school children’s experience of the camp and vacation. The minister said that the school education department is organising summer camps for students up to middle schools from July 3 to July 15 for promotion of learning via activities and other methods. Bains said the teachers of government schools are doing their best to devise innovative techniques of learning and creative ideas are being adopted to make the curriculum more interesting. The school of eminence would prove to be a breakthrough in the history of education in Punjab as the students would be honed by the experienced and dedicated teachers in such a way to enable them to learn beyond the syllabus, the education minister said. He said they would be prepared for competitive exams also. Bains added that his department has allocated a budget of Rs 5.06 crore for these summer camps in order to procure material for the children.
