Bal Bharati Public School hosts Interactive Spiritual Session by His Eminence the 8th, Chokyong Palga Rinpoche – Education News

Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, on 18 November 2021, hosted an enriching spiritual talk by His Eminence the 8th, Chokyong Palga Rinpoche, Buddhist teacher and Philosopher, and a tulku of the Drukpa (Dragon) lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Organized by the illustrious Child Education Society (Regd.), the apex body of all Bal Bharati Public Schools, pan India, the enlightening session, on the theme, ‘Serenity is not freedom from the storm but peace amid the storm’ befittingly marked the first public event to be held in the school premises since the closure of the school due to Covid – 19. Stringent measures were taken to ensure that Covid protocols were appropriately followed in all aspects. 

The gathering included Mr Nikhil Channa, President, CES; Ms Meenu Goswami, Chairperson, School Advisory Council, CES; Advisors to CES, namely, Mr SK Bhattacharya, Ms Rekha Sharma, and Ms Nanu Rekhi; Prinicipals, Vice-Principals, and Head Mistresses of different units of BBPS; besides the staff members of BBPS GR.  

Following the lamp lighting ceremony amidst the peaceful Buddhist chanting, the MC for the occasion, Ms Rekha Sharma introduced His Eminence the 8th, Chokyong Palga Rinpoche, who mesmerized the audience with his deep insightful wisdom conveyed in a light–hearted, easy manner which helped to develop an instant connect with the audience.

Emphasizing the illusionary nature of the world, which is marked by impermanence, he highlighted the importance of “…CLAW signifying compassion, love, awareness, and wisdom…”, as well as “…detachment to gain freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth”.

In the invigorating QA session, he addressed an array of queries related to existence and happiness, and also shared useful tips for spiritual sustenance, such as, “It’s okay to be not okay sometimes.”
