‘Give up English-language oriented education system’-Education News

Insisting that it is the right of every individual to get education in his/her language, renowned educationist Chamu Krishna Shastry said that there should not be a single stream in which textbooks, reference books and study material should not be available in Indian languages.

Drawing the attention of students and teachers on the importance of languages and how culture and languages are inseparable, the Padma Shri awardee said that it is high time that the country moves towards Indian languages centered education system from English-centered system. He was speaking at the 7th convocation ceremony of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University. “Teaching language should not remain confined to teaching prose and poetry. The literature students should be taught what they can do with help of language. It should be linked with employment,” he said.
