University of Hyderabad Placement Season 2025: Rs 46 Lakh Top Offer, 550 Students Placed Across 180 Organisations

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has wrapped up its placement season for the academic year 2024–25 with a record-breaking achievement: an MTech graduate from the School of Computer and Information Sciences secured a Rs 46 lakh per annum (LPA) package—the highest offer in the university’s history, and over 2.5 times the previous year’s top offer of Rs 17.89 LPA.

This achievement reflects not just individual excellence but also the university’s evolving placement ecosystem, which continues to thrive despite a challenging job market.

550 Students Placed Across 180 Organisations

This year, 550 students successfully secured placements across 180 leading public and private sector organisations, showcasing UoH’s appeal to a broad range of recruiters and industries.

From tech giants to research institutions, and from consulting firms to educational foundations, the university attracted a diverse set of employers, offering students a wide array of career opportunities.

Top Recruiters: A Blend of Industry Titans and Social Sector Leaders

UoH’s top recruiters this year included:

  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
  • Deloitte
  • Oracle
  • Teradata
  • Intel
  • Pegasystems
  • Accenture
  • Micron
  • General Electric (GE)
  • Exim Bank
  • Novartis

Adding to this list, several educational and development sector organisations also hired from UoH, including:

  • Sri Prakash Institute
  • Aakash Institute
  • Azim Premji Foundation

This eclectic mix of recruiters shows the interdisciplinary strength and versatility of UoH graduates, who are not only excelling in STEM and analytics roles but also making a mark in education, research, and social impact sectors.

High Package, Higher Potential

The Rs 46 LPA offer was made to a student from the MTech program, underscoring the growing demand for advanced technical skills and specialised knowledge. This exceptional offer sets a new benchmark for the university and reflects the quality of education and training students receive at UoH, especially in areas like Computer Science, Information Sciences, and Data Analytics.

Behind the Scenes: A Team Effort

Speaking about this year’s success, Prof. Chetan Srivastava, Chairman of the Placement Guidance Advisory Bureau (PGAB), credited the achievement to a collaborative effort between students, faculty, and university leadership:

“Despite a challenging job market, our students have excelled. The faculty, placement team, and coordinators worked tirelessly to expand our industry outreach and leverage alumni networks.”

He also acknowledged the ongoing support of Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.J. Rao, Registrar Dr. Devesh Nigam, and the broader university administration in creating a robust placement ecosystem.

Adapting to a Hybrid Hiring Landscape

Prerna Akhouri, training and placement coordinator at UoH, highlighted the digital shift in recruitment practices, noting that platforms like Zoom and Google Meet were instrumental in conducting interviews and engagement sessions.

“Despite some delays in in-person interviews, we managed excellent placements,” she said. “We are also running upskilling programs and untargeted drives to benefit more students in the coming months.”

These efforts ensure that even students who weren’t placed during the initial drives have ongoing opportunities to connect with employers and build essential job skills.

Conclusion: A Placement Season to Remember

The 2024–25 placement season has been nothing short of transformative for the University of Hyderabad. With record-breaking offers, increased participation across sectors, and an agile approach to changing recruitment landscapes, UoH has proven once again why it remains one of India’s most respected public universities.

As companies continue to scout for agile, multi-skilled, and socially conscious graduates, the University of Hyderabad is positioned as a go-to institution for talent that blends knowledge with impact.
