With a philanthropic vision, the Aggarwal Welfare society stirred by the high ideals of the legendary king and the great saint Maharaja Agarsain, initiated several social and benevolent tasks for the welfare of society. We started our journey 40 years ago under the unflinching stewardship of Late Sh.R.K.Sangal as President and Sh.O.P.Gupta as School manager on 10th April1978.MAPS got a seal of approval from the Department of Education -Delhi Administration attributable to the persistent efforts of Late S.C.Gupta. Since its inception in 1978, the school has grown in leaps and bounds, crossed many milestones and achieved many targets. MAPS is affiliated to CBSE & registered with Cambridge Assessment International Education, University of Cambridge, U.K.. Being progressive, we are the 1st school in North Delhi to introduce Internationally-benchmarked and skill-based curriculum .The students in our school think internationally while upholding their own rich cultural heritage. The school spreads over four acres of land and today we take pride to vaunt our Multipurpose auditorium cum Indoor stadium with seating capacity of 2000 persons which is under construction to promote games. We have Smart class Program running successfully up to class X in all classrooms since 2010. The school offers all the amenities for the 21st Century learning such as laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Home Science, Art and dance studio and Computer facilities, well equipped library, Audio Visual room, teaching aids for effective learning, large fields for play and spacious auditorium. The school has set an example by going green and installing Solar plant and installation of water harvesting system is in process. To ensure safety and security of children entrusted to us, we have installed 250 CCTVs which are constantly monitored. Special care is taken while appointing the drivers, to ensure that only the experienced and qualified drivers are appointed. The school has an infirmary with experienced Doctor and nurse to handle medical issues of students & also to conduct their medical examinations annually. School has a lift to help the students with medical issues/special needs for movement to their classes on upper floor. Regular Mock drills helps to train the students to respond to emergency situations (like fire, earthquake etc) promptly. They are also trained by Traffic police about Road safety and girls students are empowered in self defence by Delhi police respectively. Specialised coaches are appointed for regular coaching of different games like Skating, Badminton, Gymnastics, Tennis, Taekwondo, Chess, Yoga, Basketball ,Lawn tennis, archery and Cricket during school hours and also after school under Maharaja Agarsain Sports Academy. The Maharaja Agarsain Music Academy (MAMA), affiliated to Prayag Sangeet Samiti,Allahabad offers professional courses in vocal music, the Tabla, Guitar and Kathak and Western dance. We feel ecstatic for giving remarkable performance in CBSE board results while catering students from all strata of society .To make learning fruitful ,we follow the Multiple Intelligence Approach capitalizing on the core strengths of the students. To enhance the various skills of the students through planned activities, we keep different themes every year. To encourage lateral and critical thinking ,theme for next two years is ‘Let’s think critically’ . Presentation Week held annually is a student–centered collaborative learning strategy to transform students from being passive recipients into engaged reflective learners. Annual Integrated Project approach to help students to explore topics across a range of subject boundaries and learn by making connections between ideas and concepts across different disciplinary subjects whereas Co-curricular activities present avenues to our fledglings to spread out their wings and soar high. The House and Club activities nurture their talent while Inter House Competitions promote a healthy competitive spirit. Annual Subject week celebrations, exhibitions, Environment Day and School excursions are successfully woven as the tenets of Education as an integral part of learning. To ensure emotional health of the students, the school has a specialized counsellor to provide guidance. Class XI and XII students are given regular exposure about different career avenues available by different counsellors. Academic support is provided through remedial classes to students need additional help. The school website is a resource for parents and staff to get access to student’s information. The ethos of the school encourage children to attain high standards in their behaviour towards the moral ,social and national imperatives. The values of social responsibility are nurtured in students through projects like UDAAN and SANGINI wherein economically weak children and women are empowered through free coaching and tailoring classes respectively.
