Chairman/Directors/Correspondent's
Dr. Manje Gowda is the Chairman of Vidya Soudha Group of Institutions. Hailing from a small rural village near Hassan, he has achieved excellence in both education and industry over a career spanning more than 35 years. A rank holder in Engineering, he did his Masters and Doctorate from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Masters of Business Administration from University of Bangalore. Group Of Institutions. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Malnad College of Engineering in Hassan, Karnataka He has a wide ranging experience both in Public and Private sectors with meritorious achievements and professional success. He began his career in PWD, Government of Karnataka and worked in KSFC, a Government of Karnataka undertaking, engaged in corporate funding. He took voluntary retirement from a senior position in KSFC to explore other opportunities in the private sector. He has worked with various publicly listed companies. He also served on the board Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). Dr. Manje Gowda is also engaged in several voluntary organizations and social activities. Some of his past and current positions are: Chairman – Vidya Soudha Group of Institutions A group of educational institutions across Karnataka engaged is providing world class education for students in primary, secondary and higher education levels. Managing Trustee – Sri Manjunatha Seva Trust and SDM Charitable Trust Non-profit organizations engaged in providing education and vocational training. Vice President, Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA), Bengaluru Vice President of the premier institution for the development of sporting activities both at State and National level. President, Karnataka Amateur Boxing association (KABA), Bengaluru A sports body promoting the cause of boxing activities in the State. Many events both at State level and National Level have been conducted successfully. Has taken initiative to recognize boxers all over the State and promote them to participate in events conducted at National level and State level Boxing Championships. Former Director on the board of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) General Manager (Retired) of Karnataka State Finance Corporation -(KSFC) KSFC is one of the fast track term lending financial institutions in the country with assistance to over 1,68,152 units amounting to nearly Rs 13,136 crore over the last 55 years in the State of Karnataka. Former President, Bengaluru Management Association (BMA), Bengaluru As the President (2012-13), he took up several key initiatives of national importance, responsible to get a prime land to BMA for setting up of Management Development Centre (MDC), started the implementation of MDC project at Bengaluru, at an estimated cost of over Rs.10.00 crores. He continues to be an active member of BMA. Former Chairman, Export Promotion Council For EOUs & SEZs (EPCES), Regional Governing Council, Cochin EPCES – a Government of India Organization that oversees the promotion of exports through EOUs and SEZs. An important assignment in terms of advising GOI on export policies. International Exposure Dr. Manje Gowda has visited various western countries as a delegate of Indo – European Business Development Centre. The countries visited are USA, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium etc. Visited several industries in these countries and participated in seminars/meetings with local chambers of commerce, industrialists, associations etc. Visited China and Hong Kong as a delegate representing EPCES, A Government of India Organization. This visit included meetings with local Chambers of Commerce, Industry visits/interactions, visit to SEZs etc. Visited Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, USA and many other countries on business assignments.
