In 1960, the following eminent educationist and social workers formed Arwachin Shiksha Samiti (which was subsequently Registered under Societies Registration Act 1865) Eminent Educationist and Social Workers Shri D.K. Jain - Former Member of Corporation & Metropolitan Councilor of Delhi Shri Shri Niwas Sharma - Educationist (Commercial School Daryaganj, Delhi) Smt. Leela Nagpal - Educationist Shri Sunder Lal - Social Worker Shri D.N. Bhatnagar - Social Worker Shri Shiv Kumar Vats - Social Worker (Freedom Fighter) Shri Brahm Dutt Sharma - Educationist (Mahavir Jain School Nai Sarak, Delhi) In fact, it was single point initiation, perception & with innovative efforts of Sh. Shri Niwas Sharma (born on 12 January, 1925 at Village Hisavada, District- Meerut after having Graduated , joined as a Teacher in Commercial School , Daryaganj, Delhi) with his diligent approach and with support and guidance from Sh. D.K. Jain and other members of the Samiti could plant a seed in form of opening first of the Arwachin School, at Balbir Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi 110032, in the year 1960.Sh. Shri Niwas Sharma, with his untiring efforts, actively continued to achieve the goal. The Society actively enhanced the facilities and infrastructure with the blessings of the founder, of Arwachin Schools (till he breathed his last on 5 November, 2011), at Balbir Nagar, Vivek Vihar, Dilshad Garden as well as at Vasundhara, Ghaziabad which are running duly equipped with modern facilities, technologies and infrastructure. In 1973, with the strength of 273 students, the Arwachin School at Vivek Vihar commenced in a rented buiding by the efforts of Mrs. Sudha Sharma & Mrs. Urmil Nagpal. With consistent efforts of Sh. Shri Niwas Sharma the founder of Arwachin Schools and whole heartedly support /co-operation from Sh. Ram Narayan Arora, the then Manager of the school could get success in obtaining allotment of land on 21 July, 1978 for the Arwachin school at Vivek Vihar.From1979 onwards Sh. Anurup Sharma is the Director of the School. His knowledge and competency coped with confidence in sorting out even the encumbersum issues from down to highest level has brought laurels to the School. Shri Inderjeet Sharma (former Principal, R.A. Gita Senior Secondary School) has been quite instrumental as Manager of Arwachin School at Vivek Vihar right from 1980 to 1995. It has been his endeavour to exercise control ensuring over all development and progressive/smooth functioning of the school for over 15 years. On 8 December, 1984 Bhoomi Poojan was performed by Shri. Shri–1008 Swami Maheshanand Giri ji Maharaj, Shri Kulanand Bhatia and Sh.Sahib Singh Verma were the other most distinguished guests at this auspicious occasion .In this very year- 1984, students of Arwachin School appeared in X CBSE Board Examination under guidance and efforts of Mrs. Krishna Bhatia. In 1988, Science Stream was introduced for which due credit goes to Sh. S. Rama Ratnam being the then Principal of the School. During this year itself the school shifted to its newly constructed building which was fully equipped with all required infrastructure and amenities. During 1995-96, for a span of one year, Sh. B.N. Shrivastava (former A O of Municipal Corporation of Delhi) has been the Manager of the School and his untiring efforts for completion of task for the School have been praise worthy. From 1996 onwards, Sh. Arun Sharma is the Manager of the School and his guidance, work schedule within time factor and over all control with required liaison with outside agencies & Government Departments in bringing up the school to the present stage has been remarkable. The School’s students strength by now has been over 3700 and continued upward progress in the areas of academic, co-curricular activities, games & sports etc. duly achieving the better positions for which the credit obviously goes to respective in charges of Senior Secondary, Secondary, Middle and Primary Departments of the school besides proper control, supervision and guidance from Director- Sh. Anurup Sharma and the Manager – Sh. Arun Sharma.In the year 2000, Dr. (Ms.) Urmila Sharma designated as Principal. Ever- since the year - 2000 and up-till the current academic session – 2016-17, the upward all-around achievements have been enormous as can be seen from the various progressive charts/data(s) on the following:- Students strength(over 3700) Academic Result Percentage (100%) Co-curricular, Sports/Games and other activities Result Percentage (subject-teacher wise) Library status Smart classes – provision of software equipments Principal’s achievements & Awards Performance on jobs relating to inspections and monitor/mentor by Principal as per instructions from CBSE.
