About School
On 1st September 1909, Shri Dattatray Gopal Chitale, started a new school in his father’s name, at his residence near Nava Vishnu, Sadashiv Peth, Pune. By 1915, the school was developed upto Marathi Medium standard 1st to 4th, and English Medium standard 1st to 3rd, as Shri Gopal Primary School, and Shri Gopal Anglo-Vernacular School respectively.
After the demise of Shri. Dattatray Chitale in 1915, his friends founded Shri Gopal Education Society, and continued to develop both these schools upto Matric. During 1962, while trying to construct a new independent building for the school, Shri Gopal Education Society faced a big financial problem, and had to be closed. Keeping in mind the ideologies of the Education Society, Guruvarya L.G.Deshpande and his team formed the Sulabh Shikshan Mandal, which took over the management of these schools.
For years since the Sulabh Shikshan Mandal was formed, the organisation has left no stone unturned in providing the best facilities and education in Pune. Apart from imparting quality education to the students, the organisation also has the various facilities to promote the overall development of the students.
Till 14th July 2014, Sulabh Shikshan Mandal was running schools for Nursery to 10th class. In addition to these, with effect from 15th July 2014, Sulabh Shikshan Mandal has established an English medium Junior College for Science and Commerce, which follows the State Government prescribed curriculum and inducts the standard Admission Process.
