The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the Grant for Organising Conference (GOC) scheme to support AICTE-approved institutions in hosting conferences across diverse fields like science, technology, management, and hotel management. The scheme aims to foster knowledge sharing and networking among academicians, industry experts, and researchers from India and abroad. AICTE Chairman Professor TG Sitharam highlighted the scheme's goal of enabling academia to exchange research findings and experiences with industry and other knowledge domains, thereby enhancing networking skills crucial for technical and management students. The GOC scheme offers financial assistance in two categories: Category A supports conferences on predefined themes with funding up to INR 3 lakh, while Category B covers emerging and interdisciplinary areas with grants up to INR 2 lakh. The scheme has been expanded to include BBA/BCA/BMS colleges under Category B. Applications are accepted year-round through the GOC portal, with institutes required to apply at least eight months before the conference date. For further information and eligibility criteria, applicants can visit the AICTE website.
