Due to severe cold weather conditions in Patna, Bihar, all schools for students up to class 8 will remain closed until Saturday, January 20, as per an official order by the district magistrate. The closure, including pre-schools and anganwadi centers, is a response to the ongoing cold wave, posing health risks to students. Classes for 9th to 12th standards will continue from 9 am to 3.30 pm, with no educational activities allowed after 3.30 pm. Special classes for Bihar Board Examination and 'Mission Daksh' are exempt. The decision follows a prior closure until January 16, as temperatures in several districts dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department predicts continued extreme cold and dense fog in Northern India, including Bihar. Gaya recorded the lowest temperature at 4.9 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures expected to remain between 9 to 12 degrees Celsius in various parts of the state, including Patna.
